MiSST Saturday Music School

MiSST Saturday Music School - get involved!

Where and when?

Every Saturday during term time from 9.45am to 1pm at New North Academy, Popham Road, Islington, N1 8SJ.

Can anyone join?

The MiSST Orchestra is open to students who are at minimum Grade 3 standard in their instrument. If you are not sure if you are ready, have a chat with your music teacher.

What is it?

The MiSST Saturday Music School is an opportunity for the best music students from MiSST’s London Schools to develop their playing under professional conductors.

In its first year, students received a masterclass from Nicola Benedetti and performed a Tchaikovsky movement at a public concert at the LSO St. Luke's.

What’s the commitment?

Students are expected to attend every Saturday rehearsal unless there are very good reasons why you cannot make it. Students are also expected to commit to our concerts such as at the London Palladium on 23rd April 2018.

What music will we play?

  • Classic classics!
  • Contemporary and fun
  • New commissions working with our MiSST composer
